Baby's First Library: A Black Mom Excellence Starter Library
Supporting early development and featuring books with Black main characters and supporting Black authors
We're celebrating Black motherhood and the power of early literacy by, each month, gifting one expectant mother a starter library of five board books featuring Black children and families. One mom. Five books. A lifetime of possibilities.

Why it Matters
1. Books Build Strong Readers Having books at home encourages early literacy, builds vocabulary, and helps children develop the language skills they need to become confident readers.
2. Books Build Connection Reading together creates special moments of bonding between parents and children while nurturing a lifelong love of reading.
3. Books Build Identity and Confidence When children see themselves, their families, and their cultures reflected in books, they develop a stronger sense of belonging, pride, and possibility.
Five books. So much love.
On the 15th of every month, each month's selected mom will receive a thoughtfully curated collection of five baby-friendly board books celebrating Black identity, love, family, and joy.
These five books are more than stories. They are opportunities for snuggles, conversation, connection, and the beginning of a lifelong reading journey.
