Black Mom Excellence

Becoming a mom changed everything for me. Despite all my years as an educator, school leader, and researcher, nothing fully prepared me for the beauty and complexity of raising a Black child. When my daughter was little, I searched for a community that felt positive, culturally grounded, and genuinely supportive—but didn't find what I was looking for. I created Black Mom Excellence as the community I always wished existed: a warm, engaged space built by us and for us, where Black moms can ask questions without judgment, find real support, learn from one another, and feel uplifted as we raise our children. It brings together everything I’ve learned as a mom, educator, and researcher to help our babies—and their moms—thrive.
